PERRY COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A power outage reported shortly before noon is affecting thousands of customers in Perry County, including areas around Pinckneyville and Du Quoin.

Ameren Illinois said the cause of the outage has not yet been determined. Crews are aware of the issue and are working to assess the situation.

No estimated time for restoration was immediately available.
