CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau Police Department officers, along with the department’s Special Response Team, executed a search warrant Thursday afternoon in the 500 block of South Frederick.

Police said the warrant was obtained for Tommy Tipler Jr., 32, of Cape Girardeau, who was wanted on a no-bond warrant for first-degree harassment and was believed to be at the residence.

While officers were en route, surveillance teams reported that Tipler had left the residence in a vehicle. Officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near William Street and South West End Boulevard, where Tipler was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant, police said.

After Tipler’s arrest, officers executed the search warrant at the South Frederick residence. During the search, police said they located a quantity of pills suspected to be ecstasy and a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

Tipler was formally charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutor’s Office with two counts of Class C felony delivery of a controlled substance. He is being held without bond.

An arrest or charge is an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
