Perryville honors 101-year-old Dorothy Barry with special proclamation

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Perryville marked a milestone Thursday by celebrating the 101st birthday of longtime resident Dorothy Barry.
City officials said Barry and her late husband were founders of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store and among its first volunteers, helping establish a legacy of service that continues to support the community.
Officials noted that Barry remains active in serving others, reflecting a lifelong commitment to generosity and compassion.
In recognition of her contributions and milestone birthday, Mayor Riney proclaimed Jan. 30, 2026, as Dorothy Barry Day in Perryville.
City leaders said Barry’s life of service continues to inspire residents throughout the community.
