Kentucky State Police issues hundreds of citations, makes multiple arrests during Super Bowl weekend

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Kentucky State Police Post 2 troopers conducted increased enforcement during Super Bowl weekend, resulting in hundreds of citations and multiple arrests.
Troopers issued 232 citations, arrested eight impaired drivers, made nine drug arrests, served 14 warrants and responded to 38 calls for service, along with other enforcement activity.
In addition, troopers conducted a traffic safety checkpoint Feb. 8 on Kentucky 115 near the state line in Christian County.
During the checkpoint, approximately 65 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 23 charges or offenses. Officials said four of the charges were drug-related, and four impaired drivers were investigated and arrested.
Assisting agencies also issued several citations and arrested two impaired drivers during the checkpoint.
Kentucky State Police Post 2 reminded motorists to make safe driving decisions and follow the law. Troopers also thanked drivers who complied with traffic laws and made responsible choices to help keep roadways safe.
