Unattended pot on stove blamed for Campbell house fire

CAMPBELL, Mo., (KBSI) — The Campbell Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to officials, the fire is believed to have started from a pot left unattended on a stove.

The cause was investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Firefighters said they arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze quickly. Damage was contained to the kitchen area, though the home sustained heavy smoke damage throughout.

No injuries were reported.
