Calloway County Fiscal Court backs House Bill 557 on inmate housing costs

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The Calloway County Fiscal Court voted unanimously Feb. 18 to adopt a resolution supporting House Bill 557 during the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
County officials say the bill addresses the financial burden placed on counties for housing and caring for state inmates and aims to better balance responsibilities between state and local governments.
The resolution was approved as part of the county’s effort to promote transparency and public awareness. A copy of the adopted resolution has been made available for public review.
