CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans an extended closure on KY 1420/Noble Road at mile point 3.95 in McCracken County, starting at 8 a.m., Monday, Feb. 23.

The existing bridge over a branch of Massac Creek will be demolished and replaced with a new bridge. This is along KY 1420 between KY 2411 and Meredith Road.

Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor for this $655,000 bridge replacement project.

Construction is expected to be completed by about late April, weather permitting.

Route W in Butler County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

This section of roadway is located from Route KK to County Road 508.

Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
