Perry County under no burn advisory amid severe drought conditions

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) — The Perry County Commission has issued a no burn advisory for all of Perry County, including incorporated municipalities, citing ongoing drought conditions.

The advisory was released Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, and will remain in effect until further notice.

According to the commission, Perry County remains in a severe drought category as designated by the U.S. Drought Monitor. The decision followed discussions with emergency management officials, local law enforcement and municipal leaders regarding limited precipitation and forecasted winds in the region.

County officials said the advisory was issued in the interest of public safety.
