BRANSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Conservation recently marked the 30th anniversary of its Vulture Venture event at the Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Education Center in Branson.

The event, held Feb. 21, offered visitors the opportunity to learn about vultures through games, activities and educational presentations.

One of the featured presenters was Animal Ambassador Alice, a turkey vulture in the care of Wonders of Wildlife. Alice is unable to fly due to a previously broken wing.

Officials said the annual program is designed to educate the public about the role vultures play as carrion feeders in the ecosystem.
