Juvenile charged in alleged armed robbery tied to suspected drug transaction in Ledbetter

LED BETTER, Ky., (KBSI) — A 17-year-old juvenile has been charged in connection with an alleged robbery during a suspected drug transaction in the Ledbetter community, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 11:30 p.m. Feb. 22 to a business parking lot following a report of a robbery involving two juveniles who had arranged to meet for a drug transaction. One of the juveniles reported being robbed at gunpoint.

During the investigation, deputies identified a 17-year-old as the alleged perpetrator. Authorities said they located and seized a 9-millimeter handgun equipped with a drum magazine.

The juvenile was taken into custody and lodged at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Paducah. He has been charged with second-degree robbery and possession of marijuana. Additional charges are pending.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by Deputy Donald Crawford.

The juvenile is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
