Mayfield man arrested after stabbing reported along Ky. 45 North

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A Mayfield man has been arrested following a stabbing reported Wednesday evening in Graves County, authorities said.

Deputies with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded around 6:34 p.m. Feb. 25 to a report of a stabbing in the parking lot of a business along Ky. Highway 45 North, about two miles north of Mayfield.

Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male with what appeared to be a minor stab wound. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene. Authorities said the suspect fled in a silver vehicle.

Through their investigation, deputies identified a suspect and determined his residence was on Backusburg Road.

Deputies made contact with Hober Vasquez Orozco, 31, of Mayfield. According to the sheriff’s office, Vasquez Orozco admitted involvement in the incident and was arrested without incident.

He was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment and was lodged in an out-of-county detention center.

The Mayfield Police Department and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.

Vasquez Orozco is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
