CAMPBELL, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters with the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department responded to multiple structure fires Wednesday, including a house fire south of town and two mutual aid calls in Holcomb.

Crews were dispatched around 9:45 a.m. to a house fire on County Road 228 south of Campbell. Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the blaze with limited damage to the structure, officials said.

While on scene, Campbell firefighters were requested to assist Holcomb and Clarkton fire departments with a two-story house fire in Holcomb that had spread to a nearby mobile home and vehicle. Authorities said the house and vehicle were a total loss, and the mobile home sustained moderate fire, smoke and water damage.

Approximately 30 minutes after clearing the scene, Campbell firefighters were called back to Holcomb after the mobile home rekindled. Crews extinguished the fire and returned to Campbell around 4:30 p.m.

Department officials thanked firefighters who responded, noting many volunteered their day off to assist neighboring communities.
