CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to begin a daytime lane restriction on the Interstate 24 Tennessee River Bridge, located at mile point 29.352 at the Marshall-Livingston County line, on Monday, Mar. 9, for corrective work.

The work is expected to take approximately two weeks.

Lane Restriction Schedule (weather permitting):

• Week of March 9: Westbound reduced to one lane. Work will alternate between the left and right lanes, where crews are active.
• Week of March 16: Eastbound reduced to one lane.

Please watch for signage and use caution in the work zone.

Motorists should also be aware of a separate, ongoing work zone to reinforce shoulders on bridges between the Exit 27/U.S. 62 interchange in Marshall County and the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge. A nighttime westbound-only detour (9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mon-Fri) between Exit 31 and Exit 27 is expected to be in place from March 2 to March 13, weather permitting. The work zone has a reduced speed limit of 55 mph, and the overall project is expected to be completed by fall 2026.

Route M in Scott county will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews resurface the roadway.   

This section of roadway is located from Route A in Chaffee to I-55 in Scott City, Missouri. 

Weather permitting, work will take place Wednesday, March 25 through Tuesday, April 14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
