Early morning electrical fire displaces family in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. (KBSI) — Firefighters responded early Tuesday morning to a residential structure fire on Ashport Road in the northeast district of Madison County, according to the Madison County Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched around 5:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a working fire with smoke and flames visible from the structure.

The blaze was brought under control within approximately 30 minutes. Fire personnel remained on scene to complete extinguishment and overhaul operations.

Officials determined the fire was electrical in nature.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was notified and is assisting the displaced family.

The scene has since been cleared, and traffic in the area has returned to normal.
