JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KBSI) — Missouri’s Operation Relentless Pursuit team cleared dozens of felony warrants last week while arresting multiple suspects wanted for serious crimes, according to the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

Officials said the number of felony warrants cleared by the task force often exceeds the number of arrests because many suspects are wanted for multiple offenses.

Last week, the team recorded 22 arrests and assisted in eight additional arrests, for a total of 30 arrests. Authorities said those arrests led to 53 felony warrants being cleared and two firearms seized.

Original charges tied to the arrests included aggravated assault, first-degree false imprisonment and predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim younger than 13.

Since the initiative began, Operation Relentless Pursuit has made 1,106 arrests and assisted in 270 additional arrests, clearing a total of 2,348 warrants and seizing 91 firearms, according to the department.

State officials credited the task force, which includes members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies, with helping track down and apprehend wanted suspects across the state.
