CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office has temporarily relocated concealed carry permit and sex offender registry services due to ongoing construction.

Officials said the services are now being handled in the lobby of the new jail, known as Building B.

To reduce wait times, the sheriff’s office is asking residents to schedule appointments in advance for concealed carry permit applications and renewals, as well as sex offender registry services.

Appointments can be made by calling the sheriff’s office. Appointment hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., excluding county holidays.

Officials also noted that payments for these services are accepted by cash or check only. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
