Jackson Police Department releases 2025 annual report

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Jackson Police Department has released its 2025 Annual Report, outlining department activity, statistics, community programs and major accomplishments from the past year.
According to the report, officers responded to 20,825 calls for service, conducted 4,594 traffic stops and made 386 arrests in 2025. Police also investigated 316 motor vehicle crashes, including 70 crashes with injuries. No fatal crashes were reported within the city during the year.
Chief James Humphreys said the report highlights the department’s efforts to maintain transparency while strengthening relationships with the community.
“Serving the Jackson community is an honor we take seriously every day,” Humphreys said in the report. “Our officers and staff remain committed to protecting our neighborhoods, supporting residents and building strong relationships throughout the city.”
The department also achieved reaccreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in 2025 and received a Meritorious Service Award recognizing more than 15 years of continuous accreditation.
Other accomplishments included active shooter response training for officers, firearms simulator training, participation in community events and drug take-back programs, and continued grant funding for bulletproof vests and traffic safety enforcement.
The department reported 84 domestic violence incidents during the year, a decrease of about 17.6% from 2024, and recorded three incidents in which officers were assaulted. Officials said there were no officer-involved shootings in 2025.
Jackson police also continued their School Resource Officer program in the Jackson R-2 School District, with six officers assigned to schools throughout the district.
Department officials said officers and staff completed more than 1,480 hours of training during the year, exceeding the state’s required continuing education standards.
