Two arrested on drug, weapons charges after Paducah traffic stop

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Two people were arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop late Tuesday night in Paducah.
According to police, Officer Austin Gruner conducted a traffic stop around 10:12 p.m. March 10 in the 2700 block of Irvin Cobb Drive on a vehicle driven by Branson L. Waldridge.
Officer Ben Anthony and his K-9 partner, Bary, arrived to assist. Police said the K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of more than an ounce of methamphetamine, several ounces of marijuana, a handgun and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators said Waldridge is a convicted felon with previous convictions for methamphetamine trafficking and weapons charges.
Waldridge, 27, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, was arrested and charged with:
- First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
- Trafficking in marijuana
- Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
His passenger, Logan R. Griffith, 22, of Tiline, Kentucky, was also arrested and charged with:
- First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
- Trafficking in marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Both were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
