Illinois voters to consider referendum on federal scholarship tax credit program
FOX23 News at 9 p.m
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., (KBSI) — Illinois voters will consider a statewide referendum asking whether the state should participate in a proposed federal scholarship tax credit program.
The advisory question asks voters if Illinois should opt into a federal program that would allow privately donated funds to support academic needs for public school, private school and homeschool students.
According to the referendum, the funds could be used for expenses such as tutoring, test preparation, educational therapies for students with disabilities, tuition, books, exam fees and other approved academic costs.
Voters will be asked to vote yes or no on the question.
