Dresden Middle student faces discipline after reported threat

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (KBSI) — A Dresden Middle School student is facing disciplinary action after a threatening message directed at the school was reported and verified, according to school officials.

The message was shared in a student group chat and reported to local law enforcement. School administrators and the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office responded after school hours to investigate.

Weakley County Schools said it is working with the sheriff’s office as the investigation continues.

Officials said threats of any kind are taken seriously and addressed promptly, emphasizing that student and staff safety remains a top priority.

Anyone with safety concerns can submit an anonymous report through the district’s SafeSchools Alert system.
