ST. LOUIS, Mo., (KBSI) — Ameren Missouri is urging customers to apply for available energy assistance programs, including more than $1.5 million in remaining funds through its Dollar More program.

The utility said eligible households can receive up to $600 per year through the program, with income eligibility recently expanded to 300% of the federal poverty level. Customers may also qualify for federal assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, with applications accepted through May 31.

Ameren Missouri officials said combining available programs can help reduce the financial burden of energy costs as customers transition from heating to cooling season.

“We understand our customers are facing tough times. We are here to help,” said Joe Solari, vice president of customer experience.

The company partners with local Community Action agencies to help customers apply for assistance programs, including LIHEAP and weatherization services.

Ameren Missouri also offers additional options to help manage energy costs, including budget billing, flexible payment arrangements and energy efficiency programs. Customers can also access tools such as the My Energy Manager and rate comparison features to monitor usage and identify savings.

More information about available programs can be found on Ameren Missouri’s website.
