Ballard County Sheriff warns of scam targeting residents

BALLARD COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving messages claiming individuals have violations and must contact a website.

Authorities said several citizens have reported being contacted by phone or text with instructions to resolve alleged violations online.

The sheriff’s office emphasized it does not contact individuals by phone or text regarding violations.

Residents are urged to disregard such messages and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
