One killed, one seriously injured in rollover crash in New Madrid County

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night in New Madrid County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 9:50 p.m. March 22 on County Road 403, about two miles south of Marston.
According to the report, a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 was traveling northbound when it left the roadway, entered a field and overturned.
A 21-year-old driver from Columbia, Illinois, suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
A 19-year-old passenger from Farmington, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner George DeLisle at 10:19 p.m.
Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
