The Chicks to headline Illinois State Fair Grandstand in August

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., (KBSI) — The Illinois State Fair has announced that The Chicks will perform at the Illinois Lottery Grandstand on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026.

The trio — Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer — is one of the best-selling female bands in U.S. history, with more than 30.5 million albums sold. The group has earned 13 Grammy Awards, along with multiple Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and Country Music Association honors.

Known for hits such as “Cowboy Take Me Away,” “Landslide” and “Not Ready to Make Nice,” The Chicks have remained a prominent force in country and popular music. The group released its most recent album, “Gaslighter,” in 2020.

Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II said the addition of The Chicks continues the fair’s tradition of bringing top-tier entertainment to Springfield.

Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said the group’s performance is expected to be a highlight of this year’s Grandstand lineup.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, through Ticketmaster. Prices range from $88 to $168, with an optional $30 pre-show party upgrade available.

The 2026 Illinois State Fair is scheduled for Aug. 13-23 in Springfield.
