Highly recognized hair stylists hold educational event in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – An event aimed at inspiring cosmetologists is coming to Cape Girardeau.

 Two highly recognized hair stylists and educators are set to bring their expertise to Southeast Missouri.

Sam Villa and Anna Peters are set to give an educational class for local hair stylists.

“My question is, why are you not attending? That’s my question. Why do I say that? Because there’s always something to learn” says Villa.

“This is going to be an educational event for any licensed professional or any student that’s in the profession, and education is really something that’s ongoing and really important.”

Anna Peters is an industry platform educator and team member for Sam Villa. She has more than 20 years’ experience as a stylist. She shares why hair stylists should attend the event.

“For the stylist working behind the chair, you know, they can get in this routine and this kind of muscle memory where if you don’t step outside of that box and make yourself feel a little uncomfortable, here’s something that maybe is against what you were taught before, that‘s a little bit different” says Peters. “That‘s where your mind starts to open up and you’re able to receive new techniques, new skills.” 

Sam Villa saying the job of a stylist holds more meaning than just a simple haircut but can help with self-image and confidence and more.

“Tickets to the educational event are still available on event bright, and a lunch is included. Peters shares that stylists will have up close learning they can’t find anywhere else, with professional insight and demonstration.

 “Whether they’re just starting or there, you know, 30 years in, they’re going to find something valuable from this that they can use immediately behind the chair, and I think that’s something that’s really unique with Sam Villa education.”
