POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Medical staff at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center donated $6,000 to local organizations in honor of National Doctors’ Day.
Officials said physicians contributed $3,000 each to Haven House and the Boys & Girls Club of Poplar Bluff, choosing to give back to the community instead of receiving traditional gifts.
National Doctors’ Day, observed March 30, recognizes physicians for their service and commitment to patient care.
Hospital leaders said the donations reflect the medical staff’s support for community resources that assist families and vulnerable populations.
Haven House provides services for individuals affected by domestic violence, while the Boys & Girls Club offers programs and mentorship for youth.
Hospital officials said the annual effort highlights physicians’ commitment to supporting the community beyond patient care.
