Woman, 87, seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A woman was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on private property north of Cape Girardeau.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:43 p.m. April 1 on Old Sprigg Street, about a half-mile north of Cape Girardeau.
Troopers said a 2015 Ford Edge struck an 87-year-old woman as she was exiting the vehicle. The driver, an 87-year-old man from Sikeston, was not injured.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
