Man arrested after shooting in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A man has been arrested following a shooting Thursday night in Jackson County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded around 9 p.m. April 2 to a report of a disturbance involving a shooting of a 46-year-old man.

During the investigation, deputies identified and located a suspect, James Wright, 76, who was taken into custody.

Wright was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information may be released.
