PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — McCracken County Public Schools has named Amanda Turner as the new assistant principal at Heath Middle School.
Turner brings 24 years of experience in Kentucky public education and currently serves as principal of the Freshman Academy at McCracken County High School, where she has worked to support students transitioning into high school.
She will join incoming principal Nathan Metzger as part of the school’s leadership team. Current principal Matthew Blackwell and assistant principal Cory Tilford are set to retire at the end of the school year.
District officials said Turner’s experience across grade levels and leadership roles made her a strong fit for the position.
Turner previously taught at Lone Oak Intermediate School and has also worked in Graves County Schools and Paducah Public Schools in various instructional and leadership roles.
She holds an education specialist degree from the University of the Cumberlands and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Murray State University.
Turner is expected to begin her new role for the upcoming school year.
