St. Louis-area CEO killed, son injured in crash during family trip to Nicaragua

ST.LOUIS, Mo (KBSI) — A Missouri business leader and mother of three died in a crash during a family vacation in Nicaragua, while her young son was seriously injured.
Kasey Grelle, 41, a CEO of a marketing consulting company based in the St. Louis area, was killed in the crash, which happened during a tour at a resort along Nicaragua’s southwest coast.
Family members say Grelle was traveling with two of her children at the time when the vehicle lost control and overturned.
Her 11-year-old son was seriously hurt, suffering multiple injuries, including fractures and a collapsed lung. He was later transported to a hospital in Missouri for treatment and is now recovering.
Officials and reports indicate more than 20 people were injured in the crash.
Two of Grelle’s other children were not involved in the accident.
Friends and family describe Grelle as a dedicated mother and business leader who played a central role in supporting her family.
An online GoFundMe Page was created to support medical expenses and funeral costs.
