SEMPO to host public meetings on transit options in Jackson, Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking public input as part of a transit planning study evaluating potential bus routes in the City of Jackson and along the Nash Road corridor.
Officials will host two public open houses later this month to gather feedback from residents. The first meeting will focus on transit options in Jackson and is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. April 15 at the Jackson Civic Center, 381 E. Deerwood Drive.
A second open house addressing transit options in the Nash Road area will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. April 16 at the Shawnee Park Center, 835 South West End Blvd. in Cape Girardeau.
Officials said the meetings will be informal, with no formal presentation planned. Attendees can come and go and speak with representatives from SEMPO, Cape Girardeau County Transit Authority and Olsson.
A community survey will also be available beginning April 15.
