CHARLESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The 58th annual Dogwood-Azalea Festival is set for April 16–19, bringing a weekend of events, entertainment and spring blooms to the community.

Organizers say visitors can explore the 6-mile Dogwood-Azalea Trail, which features dogwood and azalea trees in peak bloom. The festival will also include an arts and crafts bazaar, family-friendly activities and a series of evening events, including the annual Candlelight Walk.

The event is hosted by the Charleston Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, which said this year’s festival will feature new attractions alongside long-standing traditions.

The Dogwood-Azalea Festival began in the early 1950s after efforts by the Molly French Garden Club to plant dogwoods and azaleas throughout the city. The annual event now draws visitors from across the region to celebrate Charleston’s spring landscape.
