De Soto schools say no threat after misreported incident at middle school

DE SOTO, Mo., (KBSI) — De Soto #73 School District said there is no threat to students or staff following a reported incident at the middle school.

District officials said initial information shared through 911 dispatch was mislabeled, causing confusion.

Emergency personnel responded to the school, but officials said at no point were students or staff in danger. The situation was handled by school staff and first responders.

The district said it continues to monitor the situation and emphasized that student safety remains its top priority.
