Mayfield man arrested after reported sexual assault at laundromat

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A Mayfield man was arrested following a reported sexual assault late Friday at a local laundromat, according to the Mayfield Police Department.

Officers responded around 11:20 p.m. and obtained the victim’s account along with security camera footage. Police said the victim reported she did not know the suspect, who was allegedly armed with a knife during the attack.

After several hours of investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Deven Noonan, 23, of Mayfield, who previously lived in Union City, Tennessee. Arrest and search warrants were issued, and Noonan was taken into custody at his apartment.

A search of the residence led to additional evidence, police said. Noonan is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and kidnapping.
