Former Cape Girardeau Mayor, City Manager J. Ronald Fischer dies

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — The City of Cape Girardeau announced the death of former Mayor and City Manager J. Ronald Fischer.

Fischer served on the City Council from 1965 to 1966 and as mayor from 1966 to 1967.

He later served as city manager from 1988 to 1995. He also spent more than 20 years on the Cape Girardeau County Commission.

City officials said flags at all municipal facilities will be flown at half-staff through Tuesday, April 21, in his honor.
