Surprise moment: Shawnee student awarded major SIU scholarship in front of family and faculty

ULLIN, Ill., (KBSI) — A Shawnee Community College student received a surprise scholarship award from Southern Illinois University Carbondale during a presentation attended by family, friends and faculty.

Ethan Hartline was awarded the SIU Provost Scholarship, which supports his plans to pursue a degree in political science.

College officials said the recognition highlights Hartline’s achievements and future academic goals.
