MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — Inmates and staff at the Calloway County Jail have been working on community improvement projects across the county as part of a Class D Workhouse program.
Jail officials said crews have been completing tasks such as landscaping at Central Park in Murray, including spreading mulch, as well as mowing and maintaining properties for local nonprofits and county agencies.
The work is provided at no additional cost to taxpayers and is intended to help maintain public spaces while offering inmates an opportunity to contribute to the community, officials said.
