Cape Girardeau County orders flags at half-staff to honor former commissioner J. Ronald Fischer

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau County Commission is honoring the life and service of former Commissioner J. Ronald “Judge” Fischer, who served from 1968 to 1988.
In an official order dated April 20, 2026, commissioners directed that the U.S. and Missouri flags be flown at half-staff at all county-owned buildings through dusk on April 24 in recognition of Fischer’s two decades of public service.
Officials said Fischer was known for his leadership and commitment to local government during his time in office.
