Special Olympics track and field meet set for April 25 in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — The Southeast Area Special Olympics Track and Field Meet is scheduled for April 25 at Notre Dame Regional High School.

The event is hosted by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with several local organizations. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by track events at 9:45 a.m.

Special Olympics is a year-round sports training program for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Organizers said those interested in volunteering or seeking more information can contact event officials.
