MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) — A man from Indianapolis has been arrested in connection with the sale of stolen construction equipment recovered in Graves County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said three pieces of equipment reported stolen from the Indianapolis area were recovered April 6, including a John Deere excavator and two dump trailers, with an estimated value of $50,000.

Investigators said victims in Graves County purchased the equipment through Facebook Marketplace after arranging to meet the seller at a truck stop in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, where the items were delivered.

Authorities identified the suspect as Delon L. Washington, 43, of Indianapolis, who has prior felony theft convictions. Officials said Washington is accused of posting stolen equipment online and selling it to buyers in Kentucky.

A warrant was issued in Graves County charging Washington with three counts of theft by deception. He was arrested April 22 in Indiana and is awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
