Two eaglets rescued after storm damages nest along Osage River

COLE COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Two eaglets were rescued after storms damaged their nest along the Osage River, according to the Raptor Rehabilitation Project.

Missouri Department of Conservation Agent Cole Edison responded after residents reported the nest had been destroyed.

Officials said the eaglets were found beneath debris a significant distance from the nest tree.

The birds were transported to the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center, where they are receiving care for injuries sustained during the storm.

Officials credited the residents who reported the incident and assisted in locating the eaglets.
