Driver seriously injured after crash into residence in Stoddard County

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A 35-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday evening after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a residence in Stoddard County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:38 p.m. on Missouri Route 25, about one mile south of Bernie.
Troopers said the driver, a 35-year-old man from Bernie, was traveling northbound in a 2009 Ford Edge when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and hit a residence.
The driver, who was not wearing a safety device, sustained serious injuries and was transported by air medical to Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
