CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Route 61 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.    

This section of roadway is located at Exit 44 off of Interstate 55 near Howardville, Missouri.  

Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, May 11 through Thursday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. 

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) McCracken County Highway Maintenance Crew plans to implement a lane restriction along U.S. 62 between KY 786/Mayfield Metropolis Road and McCracken Boulevard, starting at 8 a.m. Friday, May 1, for roadway maintenance and ditch work.

This is between mile points 7 and 7.85, near the entrance to the Information Age Park.

Motorists should watch for signs and be prepared to shift into the open lane in the work zone.

Work is expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m.
