JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A jury trial has been scheduled for July in the first-degree murder case against a Dahlgren woman accused in a fatal shooting earlier this year.

Jasmine L. Farny, 31, is charged in the death of James D. Cross, 47. Court records show a final pretrial hearing is set for July 7, with the trial expected to begin July 14. Both hearings are scheduled for 9 a.m. in Jefferson County court.

Authorities said Cross was found dead Feb. 1 in a parking lot along East Bonnie Road near Belle Rive. An autopsy determined he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators have said Farny and Cross were previously in a relationship.

Farny remains in custody and has appeared in court via video as the case moves forward. The case is ongoing.
