Driver cited after crashing into Carbondale residence

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — A driver was cited after crashing into a residence Tuesday night in Carbondale, police said.
Officers responded around 9:11 p.m. to the 300 block of North Springer Street for a report of a vehicle striking a home.
Authorities said the driver, identified as Eric K. Chase, 34, of Waterloo, Iowa, left the roadway and hit the residence.
Chase was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported, and officials said the residence did not appear to sustain damage.
Police said Chase was cited for no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and aggravated driving under the influence. He was released pending a court appearance.
The investigation remains ongoing.
