SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) – A man was arrested Sunday night after a ShotSpotter alert led officers to a Sikeston home where firearms and suspected drugs were recovered, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
Officers responded around 10 p.m. May 3, 2026, to the 600 block of Dempster Street. At the scene, police said they made contact with an adult man and observed a firearm in plain view. The man was detained without injury.
Authorities said officers secured three firearms from the residence, including a shotgun, a handgun and a revolver. A protective sweep revealed damage inside the home consistent with a firearm discharge.
Investigators later obtained a search warrant and recovered additional evidence, including shell casings, a projectile and items containing a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.
Kelvin Anderson, 54, of Sikeston, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
