PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — McCracken County Public Schools has named Courtney Story as principal of Lone Oak Elementary School, effective July 1.

Story will replace Jennifer Scism, who is transitioning to McCracken County High School as assistant principal over the Freshman Academy.

District officials said Story brings experience in classroom instruction and school leadership. She began her career as an English language arts teacher and later served as principal of Symsonia Elementary School, where the school achieved a top 20 ranking among more than 700 schools in Kentucky.

Most recently, Story has worked as a state literacy coach with the Kentucky Department of Education, supporting schools with instructional strategies and professional development.
She holds graduate degrees in education administration and literacy from Murray State University.

Superintendent Josh Hunt said Story’s leadership experience and focus on student achievement will help continue the success of Lone Oak Elementary.
