Kids’ fishing event brings community together in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office joined local partners for a children’s fishing event over the weekend.

The event, hosted by the Missouri Children’s Division and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, brought families together for a day of outdoor activities.

Deputies said they spent time fishing alongside children and participating in the event, which featured games, fishing and community interaction.

Officials thanked organizers and volunteers for their efforts and said the event provided an opportunity to connect with families in the community.
