Planned power outage scheduled for parts of western Kentucky

WESTERN KENTUCKY (KBSI) — West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative announced a planned power outage will begin at 11:59 p.m. Saturday as the Tennessee Valley Authority continues upgrades at the Benton Substation.
The outage is expected to affect customers in the Scale Road, Griggstown, Briensburg, Fairdealing, Moors and Big Bear Highway areas, as well as areas north and south of U.S. Highway 68.
According to the cooperative, power is expected to be restored within about two hours.
Officials said the outage is the third scheduled interruption connected to ongoing equipment installation work at the substation.
Customers are encouraged to make any necessary preparations ahead of the outage.
