Firefighters clear Dexter landfill fire scene after overnight response

DEXTER, Mo., (KBSI) — The Dexter Fire Department responded Sunday evening to a fire at Lemons Landfill.
Firefighters were dispatched around 5:05 p.m. and determined additional tanker support was needed after arriving on scene.
Departments from Doniphan, Naylor, Sikeston, Gordonville, Delta, Morehouse, Advance, Puxico, Bloomfield, Bernie and Essex assisted with the tanker operation.
Fire crews remained on scene for about eight and a half hours. The Dexter Fire Department cleared the scene around 1:15 a.m.
